Host A Teen

Hosting an Irish teen in the Ulster Project is a wonderful family experience. It's fun, educational, and best of all, it's easy to do. There is no cost for your family to host a teen. The Project pays all expenses for scheduled Project activities, both for your own host teen and for your Irish guest. All we ask you to provide is a place for your guest to sleep (teens may share a room), meals, and transportation to and from the pick-up point for daily Project gatherings. We will assist you with car pooling. Our Irish teens bring their own spending money and are fully insured by the Project in case of a medical emergency. Our Project Committee will assist you in any way needed to insure an enjoyable summer for your family and your Irish guest teen.

Who is eligible to host?

We're looking for host families who are of the Catholic or Protestant faiths (Non-denominational Christians are also eligible) and who have a teen who is between 14 and 16 years of age. The "host teen" should be available for the month of July, and be willing to spend this time with his or her Irish guest and the Project community. If you might have a few days committed to other activities in July, talk to us.  You may still be who we're looking for.

We're looking for a few good people

This isn't "American Idol". We're not necessarily looking for the most talented singers or actors in the world (although that wouldn't hurt...we have a talent show and the Irish always beat us), rocket scientists, the most beautiful fashion models, or the guy who owns the nicest car in Stark County with a ten-thousand-dollar sound system. Now, if any of these apply to you, we're still interested in signing you up, it's just not a requirement. We ARE looking for open-minded, friendly people who want to share new experiences, make new friends, and have a great time. If you're willing to share your home with a new friend who "talks funny", we want you in our Project. Now drop that video game controller and contact us!!!  We'll set up an appointment to visit you in your home and explain how the Project works. We'll show you pictures from past Projects and answer any questions you may have. And if you decide the Project is for you, we'll leave you with an application form. There's no obligation, so call or email us today. You'll be glad you did.
